From UniPv to the Venice Biennale, COD student Wardeh Daibes, a juror of the 2023 UNIMED Prize

Congratulations to Wardeh Daibes, student of Digital Communication (COD), who has been selected and attended and as an UNIMED Jury for the UNIMED Award 2023 for the 80th Venice International Film Festival.
The collateral prize of the Venice International Film Festival results from the collaboration between UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union and La Biennale of Venice.
A jury of 18 international students from Italy, Spain, Palestine, Jordan and Iraq, coming from UNIMED associated universities, was assigned two UNIMED Awards, one for the Best Film and another for the Best Film with Cultural Diversity. After ten days of watching and evaluating films, the Jury has awarded the film “Poor Things” by Yorgos Lanthimos as the Best Film and “Green Border” by Agnieszka Holland as the Best Film that most effectively represents Cultural Diversity.
“Being part of the UNIMED Jury has given me the chance to experience cinema from a whole different point of view. Along with the special friendships made with the other members of the Jury, I had the pleasure and ultimate joy of watching films by big and talented directors, actors and professionals in the cinema industry, as well as being part of the magical atmosphere in the festival, getting to know people who share the same passion and witnessing how cinema unites people from different cultures and backgrounds through art. I could not thank UNIMED and UniPv (in particular the Center for Global Strategic Engagement GLOBEC) enough for the opportunity they gave me, it has been an honor and an experience of a lifetime”. Wardeh Daibes.
