Ricercatrice del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione dell'Università di Pavia nominata prima Junior Member di IMEKO

(English below) Valentina Bello, ricercatrice nell’ambito della fotonica e delle misure opto-elettroniche presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell’Informazione dell'Università di Pavia, è stata nominata prima Junior Member del Comitato Tecnico di Fotonica dell’International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), una delle più importanti organizzazioni a livello globale nel campo della scienza delle misure.

La Junior Membership, istituita per la prima volta nella storia di IMEKO, è riservata a ricercatori under 35 con un forte potenziale nel campo della fotonica e della metrologia. L’iniziativa favorisce la partecipazione attiva dei talenti emergenti alle attività scientifiche e tecniche dell’organizzazione e ne promuove la cooperazione internazionale, facilitando la collaborazione tra professionisti di diversi Paesi.

La dott.ssa Bello ha conseguito la Laurea Triennale in Bioingegneria e la Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Elettronica presso l’Università di Pavia e, nel 2022, il Dottorato di Ricerca in Electronics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, con una tesi sullo sviluppo di sensori micro-opto-fluidici per applicazioni biochimiche e mediche. Ha svolto periodi di ricerca presso la KU Leuven (Belgio), la Boston University e il Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). Dal 2023 è Ricercatrice presso il Laboratorio di ElettroOttica del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell’Informazione.

Nell’intervista pubblicata nella Newsletter di IMEKO, la dott.ssa Bello ha sottolineato l’approccio internazionale e multidisciplinare dell’organizzazione, evidenziando le opportunità di networking, crescita professionale e sviluppo di progetti di ricerca offerte dalla partecipazione attiva alla comunità scientifica.

A researcher at the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Pavia has been appointed first-ever Junior Member of IMEKO

Valentina Bello, Assistant Professor in the field of photonics and opto-electronic measurements at the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering, has been appointed first-ever Junior Member of the Technical Committee of Photonics of the International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), one of the most important organizations in measurement science at a global level.

The Junior Membership, established for the first time in IMEKO’s history, is reserved for under 35-researchers who demonstrate strong potential in photonics and metrology. The initiative encourages the active participation of emerging talents in the organization scientific and technical activities and promotes international collaboration, facilitating cooperation among professionals from different countries.

Dr. Bello obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering and Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Pavia, and, in 2022, she completed a Ph.D. in Electronics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, with a dissertation on the development of micro-opto-fluidic sensors for biochemical and medical applications. She has carried out research at KU Leuven (Belgium), Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). Since 2023, she has been Assistant Professor at the Electro-Optics Laboratory of the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering.
