L’Università di Pavia e i partner dell’Alleanza europea EC2U s’incontrano a Coimbra per costruire comunità più sostenibili
(English below) L’Alleanza EC2U si ritrova a Coimbra per “Preparare le comunità ad un futuro sostenibile”. Questo è il tema del’EC2U Forum, evento internazionale che riunirà nella città portoghese tutte le università partner dell’Alleanza EC2U (European Campus of City-Universities) per una settimana ricca di incontri, momenti istituzionali e intensi scambi interculturali orientati a rafforzare l’identità dell’Alleanza, riflettere sui traguardi raggiunti e delineare le prospettive per il futuro.
La settima edizione segna l’ingresso ufficiale dell’Università di Umeå (Svezia) all’interno dell’Alleanza, di cui oltre all'Università di Pavia fanno parte l’Università di Poitiers (Francia), la l’Università Friedrich Schiller di Jena (Germania), l’Università Alexandru Ioan Cuza di Iaşi (Romania), l’Università di Salamanca (Spagna), l’Università di Turku in Finlandia, l’Università Johannes Kepler di Linz in Austria, l’Università di Coimbra (Portogallo).
UniPv sarà presente con una delegazione composta da oltre quaranta persone, tra studenti, docenti, ricercatori e partner associati. Tra questi, Assolombarda, il Centro Sportivo Universitario (CUS) di Pavia e il Comune di Pavia, che sarà rappresentato in loco dall’Ufficio Europa e per la prima volta dal Sindaco Michele Lissia, accompagnato dall’Assessora Alessandra Fuccillo, con delega alla Pubblica istruzione, Formazione professionale, Pari opportunità, Intercultura e Politiche dei tempi. Il Polo Tecnologico di Pavia e la Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo seguiranno i lavori da remoto, mentre in presenza non mancheranno i rappresentanti delle associazioni studentesche ST.E.P ESN e AIESEC. È confermata inoltre la partecipazione dell’Università Ivan Franko di Lviv (Ucraina) in qualità di partner strategico dell’Alleanza
Giunto alla settima edizione, l’EC2U Forum offrirà oltre quaranta attività e incontri dedicati ai tanti partecipanti – studenti, staff universitario, rappresentanti delle municipalità e comunità accademiche, che comprenderanno attività di lavoro e networking, promozione delle opportunità di studio e mobilità su scala europea, panels e “sfide” per studenti e ricercatori, ispirate al tema dello sviluppo sostenibile e dell’azione climatica.
Sarà l’occasione per stimolare una riflessione condivisa sulle sfide che città e istituzioni accademiche si trovano ad affrontare in tema di sostenibilità, tema cardine delle attività condotte all’interno dell’Alleanza, ispirate agli Obiettivi di Sviluppo sostenibile (SDGs) delle Nazioni Unite. Sarà l’occasione per condividere e promuovere buone pratiche e linee d’azione, oltre a discutere la strategia che guiderà i prossimi anni dell’Alleanza. Uno sguardo al futuro che parte dal presente e ritrova nel Forum un momento di incontro, collaborazione e costruzione di nuove frontiere culturali.
The University of Pavia at the EC2U Forum 2025: the EC2U Alliance meets in Coimbra to Build More Sustainable Communities
The EC2U Alliance is gathering in Coimbra under the theme “Preparing Communities for a Sustainable Future.” This is the focus of the annual EC2U Forum, an international event that will bring together all the partner universities of the European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U) in the Portuguese city for a week of meetings, institutional events, and intense intercultural exchange. The aim is to strengthen the Alliance’s shared identity, reflect on the achievements so far, and outline future directions.
This seventh edition marks the official entry of Umeå University (Sweden) into the Alliance, which now includes, in addition to the University of Pavia, the University of Poitiers (France), Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi (Romania), the University of Salamanca (Spain), the University of Turku (Finland), the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria), and the University of Coimbra (Portugal).
The University of Pavia will be represented by a delegation composed of over forty participants, including students, faculty, researchers, and associated partners. These include Assolombarda, the University Sports Centre (CUS Pavia), and the Municipality of Pavia, which will be present on-site through the Europe Office and, for the first time, Mayor Michele Lissia, accompanied by Councillor Alessandra Fuccillo. The Pavia Technological Hub and the IRCCS San Matteo will follow the proceedings remotely. Representatives of the student associations ST.E.P ESN and AIESEC will also attend in person. Moreover, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) will participate as a strategic partner of the Alliance.
Now in its seventh edition, the EC2U Forum will offer over forty activities and sessions for participants — including students, university staff, municipal representatives, and academic communities. These will include working groups, networking events, the promotion of European study and mobility opportunities, panels, and themed “challenges” for students and researchers focused on sustainability and climate action.
The Forum will be an opportunity to foster a shared reflection on the challenges that cities and academic institutions face in advancing sustainability, a central theme in the Alliance’s work, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will also serve to share and promote best practices and strategic action plans, as well as discuss the funding strategy for the coming years. A forward-looking vision rooted in present-day initiatives, the EC2U Forum represents a key moment of encounter, collaboration, and the creation of new cultural frontiers.
