L’Alleanza EC2U dà il benvenuto al nono partner, l’Università di Umeå
(English below) L’Alleanza EC2U - di cui UniPv è parte - annuncia l’integrazione dell’Università di Umeå. L’ateneo svedese diventa il nono membro dell’Alleanza, che attualmente include l’Università di Coimbra, l’Università di Iași, l’Università di Jena, l’Università di Pavia, l’Università di Poitiers (coordinatrice), l’Università di Salamanca, l’Università di Turku e l’Università di Linz, che ha aderito all’Alleanza nel 2023 ospitando l’ultimo Forum EC2U nell’ottobre 2024.
L’anno 2025 sarà dedicato a Umeå, scelta perché in linea con i valori e alla visione dell’Alleanza EC2U, tra cui l’impegno a favore della sostenibilità, la promozione della diversità e dell’inclusione in ambito accademico, non ultimo il legame con la città e il territorio di appartenenza.
L’integrazione di Umeå rafforzerà ulteriormente la comunità EC2U e aprirà nuove opportunità di collaborazione e partnership, nei settori della ricerca, dell’innovazione e della mobilità studentesca, che coinvolgeranno anche UniPv.
Tra i più grandi atenei della Svezia, l’Università di Umeå accoglie 38.000 studenti e 4.600 persone tra docenti e staff. Offre 150 programmi di studio, tra cui 40 lauree triennali e magistrali, con oltre 450 corsi insegnati in inglese in diversi ambiti come scienze, tecnologia, salute e discipline umanistiche. Ospita oltre 2.000 ricercatori impegnati in team di eccellenza a livello internazionale.
Tra i suoi maggiori successi, il Premio Nobel per la scoperta del CRISPR-Cas9 da parte di Emmanuelle Charpentier, traguardo conquistato durante l’attività di ricercatrice presso l’università.
Caratterizzata da un campus di respiro internazionale, Umeå si distingue per l’attività didattica e di ricerca, in linea con gli obiettivi dell’Agenda 2030, al fine di promuovere la sostenibilità, l’inclusione e i valori europei di cui l’Alleanza EC2U è portatrice.
The EC2U Alliance welcomes Umeå University as its 9th Partner
The EC2U Alliance - of which UniPv is a member - announces the integration of Umeå University. The Swedish university becomes the ninth member of the Alliance, which currently includes the University of Coimbra, the University of Iași, the University of Jena, the University of Pavia, the University of Poitiers (Coordinator), the University of Salamanca, the University of Turku, and the University of Linz, which joined the Alliance in 2023 and hosted the latest EC2U Forum in October 2024.
The year 2025 will be dedicated to Umeå, selected for its alignment with the values and vision of the EC2U Alliance, including a commitment to sustainability, the promotion of diversity and inclusion in academia, and strong ties to its city and surrounding region.
The integration of Umeå will further strengthen the EC2U community and open new opportunities for collaboration and partnerships in the fields of research, innovation, and student mobility.
Umeå University, one of the largest higher education institutions in Sweden, hosts 38,000 students and employs 4,600 faculty and staff members. It offers 150 study programmes, including 40 undergraduate and Master’s degrees, with over 450 courses taught in English in diverse fields such as science, technology, health, and humanities.
The university is home to more than 2,000 researchers engaged in internationally renowned teams. Among its greatest achievements is the Nobel Prize awarded to Emmanuelle Charpentier for her discovery of CRISPR-Cas9, a milestone reached during her time as a researcher at Umeå University.
