Joint Workshop in “Digital Heritage” con University of Sharjah
(English below) Un workshop internazionale congiunto tra l’Università di Pavia e la University of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) nel campo del Digital Heritage si è svolto dal 10 al 12 ottobre 2023 a Sharjah.
Il workshop "Digital Discoveries in Architectural Heritage: From 3D Mapping to Phygital Experiences" è stato organizzato dal Department of Architectural Engineering della University of Sharjah (UoS) dalla dott.ssa Raffaella De Marco (MSCA Fellow Researcher, UniPv) e Dr. Eslam Nofal (Assistant Professor, UoS) per gli studenti di Architettura, del Bachelor’s program of Sciences in Architectural Engineering e del Master's program in Conservation Management of Cultural Heritage (coordinato in collaborazione con ICCROM) offerto dalla University of Sharjah.
Il workshop ha introdotto gli studenti al tema della produzione e gestione di banche dati 3D sui beni architettonici per l'analisi morfometrica dei sistemi costruiti e la divulgazione virtuale dei siti culturali, condividendo le best practice realizzate grazie alla collaborazione con il laboratorio di ricerca DAda-LAB. del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Architettura (DICAr) dell'Università di Pavia. La sperimentazione si è concentrata sull'adozione di questi prodotti in termini di Virtual Heritage e di Web Repository per la gestione delle narrazioni multimediali del patrimonio. I siti architettonici analizzati appartengono al patrimonio architettonico della Palestina.
I modelli virtuali 3D sviluppati dagli studenti sono disponibili sul sito del Progetto MOEBHIOS.
Il workshop si è inserito in un programma di eventi e incontri organizzati attraverso il programma di mobilità Erasmus+ e supportati dal progetto europeo MSCA "MOEBHIOS" coordinato dall'Università di Pavia, finalizzato alla condivisione di pratiche ed esperienze formative sul Digital Heritage per la mappatura e la user experience di siti architettonici del Patrimonio Culturale internazionale.

- “Digital Heritage Features: strategies of connection between Data, Tools and Stories", open lecture al corso di Master in Conservation Management of Cultural Heritage dell'Università di Sharjah in collaborazione con l'Istituto per la conservazione dei beni culturali - International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
- “Digital Heritage Practice: Experiences from the Survey to the Fruition of 3D Databases and Virtual Modelling Environments”, open talk presso il Museum of Islamic Civilization in Sharjah.
Le attività, a cui hanno partecipato studenti e docenti internazionali dell'Università di Sharjah, sono state coordinate con visite istituzionali e incontri per future collaborazioni presso il Department of Architectural Engineering, College of Engineering, International Mobility Department and Vice Chancellor Office for Research and Graduate Studies della University of Sharjah.

Joint Workshop in “Digital Heritage” with the University of Sharjah
A joint international workshop between the University of Pavia (Italy) and the University of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) in the field of Digital Heritage took place from 10th to 12th October 2023 in Sharjah.
The workshop "Digital Discoveries in Architectural Heritage: From 3D Mapping to Phygital Experiences" was organised at the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Sharjah (UoS) by Dr. Raffaella De Marco (MSCA Fellow Researcher, UNIPV) and Dr. Eslam Nofal (Assistant Professor, UoS) for students of Architecture, in the Bachelor’s program of Sciences in Architectural Engineering and Master's program in Conservation Management of Cultural Heritage (coordinated in collaboration with ICCROM) offered by the University of Sharjah.
The workshop introduced the students to the topic of the production and management of 3D databases on Architectural Heritage for the morphometric analysis of built systems and the virtual dissemination of cultural sites, sharing best practices achieved through the collaboration with the research laboratory DAda-LAB. of the DICAr - Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia. The experimentation focused on the adoption of these products in terms of Virtual Heritage and Web Repositories for the management of multimedia heritage narratives. The architectural sites analysed belong to Palestinian Heritage.
The 3D Virtual models developed by the students are available on the MOEBHIOS Project website.
The workshop was part of a programme of events and meetings organised through the Erasmus+ Mobility programme, and supported by the MSCA European project "MOEBHIOS" coordinated by the University of Pavia, aimed at sharing practices and educational experiences on Digital Heritage for the mapping and user experience of architectural sites of international Cultural Heritage.

The activities, attended by international students and lecturers from the University of Sharjah, were combined with institutional visits and meetings for future collaborations at the Department of Architectural Engineering, the College of Engineering, the International Mobility Department and the Vice Chancellor Office for Research and Graduate Studies of the University of Sharjah.
