Relazioni internazionali: una settimana tra America Latina, Africa, Asia ed Europa
(English below) A fine febbraio le Relazioni Internazionali dell’Ateneo sono impegnate in numerose iniziative in America Latina, Africa, Asia e in contesto europeo. Il 26 e 27 febbraio a Buenos Aires il Rettore Alessandro Reali partecipa alla conferenza finale del progetto Pnrr "Heritage for Future: Bridging Italy and Latin America through Mutual Learning and Innovative Teaching". L’iniziativa riunisce Rettori e rappresentanti istituzionali italiani e sudamericani e rappresenta un momento conclusivo di confronto sui risultati del progetto, dedicato alla valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale come strumento di cooperazione accademica e innovazione didattica tra Italia e America Latina. Per l’Università di Pavia, sono presenti anche Paolo Gamba, Marco Morandotti e Carlo Berizzi, referenti per le attività illustrate.
Negli stessi giorni, Buenos Aires ospita le Jornadas del CUIA (Consorcio interUniversitario Italiano para Argentina). Per l’Università di Pavia sarà presente dall’1 al 7 marzo Silva Bortolussi, coordinatrice del progetto Moving Italianness, finanziato dal MUR nell’ambito del PNRR e coordinato dal CUIA. Sarà l’occasione per presentare i risultati dell’iniziativa nazionale che coinvolge 13 università italiane - tra cui UniPv - e oltre 50 atenei argentini. L’attività interessa diverse aree scientifiche e umanistiche, con l’obiettivo di promuovere lo scambio di ricercatori, docenti e studenti, favorendo risultati accademici e crescita professionale.
A Hong Kong, dal 23 al 27 febbraio, l’Ateneo prende parte all’edizione 2026 della conferenza promossa dall’Asian-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE), rappresentato da Marco Racchi, Delegato del Rettore per Asia e Oceania, e da Michela Cobelli, Responsabile della UOC Mobilità Internazionale. La partecipazione mira a consolidare partnership nell’area Asia-Pacifico e a sviluppare nuove opportunità di mobilità e cooperazione accademica per studenti e staff del nostro ateneo.
Carola Ricci, Delegata del Rettore per Africa e Cooperazione, sarà invece a Bari per la conferenza finale del progetto UNITAfrica, focalizzato sul rafforzamento delle relazioni accademiche e scientifiche con il continente africano. Con lei, Gian Battista Parigi (ex presidente Cicops) e Maria Sassi, la dottoranda Ilaria Zambon e Marco Oliva (UOC Mobilità internazionale). Oltre a presentare i risultati e l’impatto del progetto, il meeting sarà l’occasione per discutere le sfide e le opportunità di sviluppo a medio e lungo termine, al fine di garantire la sostenibilità di questa iniziativa transnazionale.
Sul fronte europeo, si terrà a Bruxelles un meeting strategico dell’Alleanza EC2U, che riunirà i referenti delle nove università partner per definire attività, obiettivi e linee di sviluppo future. Per l’Università di Pavia saranno presenti il Prorettore agli Affari Internazionali Matteo Alvaro, i Delegati del Rettore Claudio Cusano e Lorenzo Cavagna, la referente dell’EC2U Connect Centre Daniela Ovadia e i Local Coordinators Ec2U Alberto Forte, Elena Clemente e Giulia Marrazzo.
Il 26 febbraio si terrà l’incontro con Vanessa Debiais-Sainton (membro del gabinetto della Vice-Presidente esecutiva della Commissione Europea Roxana Mînzatu), referente in materia di istruzione superiore, Union of Skills, educazione digitale ed Erasmus+. Sarà l’occasione per discutere il futuro delle Alleanze Europee partendo dall’esperienza condivisa nei primi sei anni della European Universities Initiative, al fine di rafforzare il ruolo dell’Europa nel settore dell'educazione superiore e la sua competitività su scala globale.
International Relations: A Week Across Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe
At the end of February, the University of Pavia’s International Relations Office is engaged in numerous initiatives across Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. On 26–27 February in Buenos Aires, Rector Alessandro Reali will take part in the final conference of the PNRR project Heritage for Future: Bridging Italy and Latin America through Mutual Learning and Innovative Teaching. The event brings together rectors and institutional representatives from Italy and South America and serves as a concluding moment of reflection on the project’s outcomes, focused on enhancing cultural heritage as a tool for academic cooperation and innovative teaching between Italy and Latin America. Paolo Gamba, Marco Morandotti, and Carlo Berizzi are representing UNIPV for the relevant activities.
During the same days, Buenos Aires will also host the Jornadas del CUIA (Consorcio interUniversitario Italiano para Argentina). From 1 to 7 March, Silva Bortolussi, coordinator of the Moving Italianness project - funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) under the PNRR and coordinated by CUIA - will attend on behalf of UNIPV. The event will be an opportunity to present the results of this national initiative involving 13 Italian universities — including UNIPV — and over 50 Argentine institutions, across various scientific and humanistic fields. The project aims to promote the exchange of researchers, faculty members and students, fostering academic outcomes and professional growth.

She will be joined by Gian Battista Parigi (former President of CICOPS) and Maria Sassi, PhD candidate Ilaria Zambon and Marco Oliva (International Mobility Office). In addition to presenting the project’s results and impact, the meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss medium- and long-term development challenges and opportunities to ensure the sustainability of this transnational initiative.
On the European front, a strategic meeting of the EC2U Alliance will be held in Brussels, bringing together representatives from the nine partner universities to define future activities, goals and development lines. Representing the University of Pavia will be Vice-Rector for International Affairs Matteo Alvaro, Rector’s Delegates Claudio Cusano and Lorenzo Cavagna, Daniela Ovadia (EC2U Connect Centre ) and EC2U Local Coordinators Alberto Forte, Elena Clemente, and Giulia Marrazzo.
On 26 February, a meeting will be held with Vanessa Debiais-Sainton (member of the Cabinet of the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Roxana Mînzatu), responsible for higher education, the Union of Skills, digital education and Erasmus+. This will be an opportunity to discuss the future of the European Universities Alliances, drawing on the shared experience of the first six years of the European Universities Initiative, with the goal of strengthening Europe’s role in higher education and its competitiveness on a global scale.
