UniPv accoglie Umeå: il nuovo partner EC2U in visita a Pavia per consolidare la collaborazione con le università dell'Alleanza europea
(English below) Da Umeå a Pavia per lavorare insieme, condividere buone pratiche e consolidare le relazioni all’interno dell’Alleanza EC2U. Il 22 e 23 ottobre, l’Università di Pavia ha accolto una delegazione svedese composta dalla prof.ssa Cathrine Norberg, Vice-Rector for Education e rappresentante ExeCo dell’Università di Umeå, e da Peter Lexelius, EC2U Local Coordinator per lo stesso ateneo. Si tratta della terza tappa del “Fast-Track Integration Program” organizzato per l’ultimo partner entrato ufficialmente nell’Alleanza lo scorso maggio. Dopo Poitiers (Francia) e Turku (Finlandia), prosegue a Pavia il percorso di integrazione tra università e città EC2U, volto a favorire una collaborazione sempre più ampia nei settori della ricerca, della didattica e della mobilità studentesca.
Accolta al GLOBEC (Center for Global Strategic Engagement), sede della EC2U Unit locale, la delegazione svedese ha incontrato il prof. Matteo Alvaro (Prorettore agli Affari Internazionali con delega alle Alleanze Internazionali), e la prof.ssa Elisabetta Rocca (Delegata del Rettore all’Europa). L’incontro ha offerto una panoramica dell’organizzazione dell’Ateneo e delle attività EC2U, dai work packages ai risultati raggiunti e agli obiettivi futuri.
Nel pomeriggio, la delegazione ha visitato il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Architettura (DICAr). Il prof. Marco Morandotti (coordinatore scientifico e rappresentante UniPv del Work Package 6 “Sustainable Cities & Communities”) e la dott.ssa Elisabetta Doria (ricercatrice al DICAr e membro del WP6) hanno illustrato le attività dell’Ateneo nell’ambito dell’Istituto Virtuale di ricerca su Città e Comunità Sostenibili (VISCC), i progetti e le collaborazioni in corso. Tra questi, il progetto Interreg CHARME promosso dal Comune di Pavia e le tre edizioni delle B.SuRe Summer School. La visita è proseguita presso il CUS Pavia, dove il prof. Stefano Ramat, coordinatore scientifico del WP2 Campus Life Sub-Board e presidente del CUS e il dott.Roberto Soldi hanno accompagnato gli ospiti alla sede nautica del centro e ai nuovi impianti di via Agostino Bassi.
La mattina successiva è stata dedicata alla “Digital EC2U Alliance”, nella quale Daniela Ovadia e Luigi Santangelo del gruppo di coordinamento WP3 hanno presentato le attività in corso, tra cui lo sviluppo del nuovo sito web e le diverse azioni di integrazione digitale dell’Alleanza.
Dopo l’incontro con la prof.ssa Carola Ricci, Delegata del Rettore alla Cooperazione, il pomeriggio è stato dedicato alla cultura, elemento che unisce tutte le città EC2U. La delegazione svedese ha visitato le aule storiche dell’Ateneo, guidata dal tirocinante Gianmarco Puggioni, quindi si è recata al Museo Kosmos, per ammirare le collezioni permanenti che raccontano la storia e le radici del nostro territorio.
«Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno meraviglioso a Pavia – afferma la Vice-rettrice per l’Educazione prof. Cathrine Norberg – dove i momenti di socialità si sono integrati con eventi informativi in un contesto che ci ha permesso di conoscere meglio una delle università più antiche d’Europa. Oltre a camminare sulle orme storiche di Ugo Foscolo, Antonio Scarpa e Alessandro Volta, un’esperienza davvero emozionante, abbiamo incontrato i nostri nuovi colleghi dell’Università di Pavia e condiviso con loro esperienze durante due giornate intense. Il programma di integrazione è stato un’esperienza positiva dal punto di vista della collaborazione ed è un ottimo modo per entrare a far parte della famiglia EC2U. Lavorare insieme significa imparare a conoscersi».
Per il Prorettore agli Affari Internazionali Matteo Alvaro, «Accogliere a Pavia l‘EC2U fast-track integration program di Umeå è stato importante per due ragioni: apprendere gli uni dagli altri e porre le basi per una collaborazione proficua volta a creare nuove opportunità per studenti, ricercatori e personale delle nove università di EC2U. Oltre al lavoro condiviso quotidianamente, incontrarsi rende tangibile l’esperienza delle alleanze europee, pensate come una rete di università senza frontiere, dove il confronto diretto si traduce in idee concrete, progetti comuni e una visione condivisa di futuro europeo».

UniPv welcomes Umeå: the new EC2U partner visits Pavia
to strengthen collaboration with the universities of the European Alliance
From Umeå to Pavia to work together, share best practices, and strengthen relationships within the EC2U Alliance. On October 22–23, the University of Pavia welcomed a Swedish delegation composed of Prof.Cathrine Norberg, Vice-Rector for Education and ExeCo representative at Umeå University, and Peter Lexelius, EC2U Local Coordinator for the same institution. This was the third stop of the “Fast-Track Integration Program”, organized for the latest partner officially joining the EC2U Alliance last May. After Poitiers (France) and Turku (Finland), Pavia plays an active role in the Umeå integration process, aimed at fostering broader collaboration in research, education, and student mobility.
Welcomed at GLOBEC (Center for Global Strategic Engagement), home of the local EC2U Unit, the Swedish delegation met Prof. Matteo Alvaro (Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Delegate for International Alliances) and Prof. Elisabetta Rocca (Rector’s Delegate for Europe). During the meeting, they were given an overview of the University’s organization and its EC2U-related activities – from work packages to key achievements and future goals. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAr), where Prof. Marco Morandotti (Scientific Coordinator and UniPv representative for Work Package 6 “Sustainable Cities & Communities”) and Dr. Elisabetta Doria (Researcher at DICAr and WP6 member) presented the University’s activities within the Virtual Institute for Sustainable Cities and Communities (VISCC), as well as ongoing projects and collaborations. Among these were the Interreg CHARME project, promoted by the Municipality of Pavia, and the three editions of the B.SuRe Summer School. The visit continued at the University Sports Center (CUS Pavia), where Prof. Stefano Ramat (Scientific Coordinator of WP2 Campus Life Sub-Board and President of CUS) and Dr. Roberto Soldi accompanied the guests to the rowing and canoeing facilities and the new sports complex in Via Agostino Bassi.
The following morning was dedicated to the “Digital EC2U Alliance”, during which Daniela Ovadia and Luigi Santangelo from the WP3 coordination team presented the ongoing activities, including the development of the new website and the various digital integration initiatives of the Alliance.
After the meeting with Prof. Carola Ricci, Rector’s Delegate for Cooperation, the afternoon was dedicated to culture, a connecting element across all EC2U cities. The Swedish delegation visited the University’s historic halls, guided by intern Gianmarco Puggioni, and then proceeded to the Kosmos Museum to admire the permanent collections that showcase the history and heritage of the local area.
«We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Pavia - says Umeå Vice-rector for Education Prof.Cathrine Norberg - where social interactions were integrated with informative events in a context where we learned a lot about one of Europe’s oldest universities. Apart from walking in the historical steps of Ugo Foscolo, Antonio Scarpa and Alessandro Volta, which was a real wow feeling, we met our new colleagues from University of Pavia and shared experiences with them during two intensive days. The integration program is a positive experience from a collaborative perspective, and is a really good way of becoming integrated in the EC2U family. Working together involves knowing each other».
