La Commissione Europea riconosce le buone pratiche dell'Alleanza EC2U

(English below) La Commissione Europea ha riconosciuto l’attività dell’Alleanza Europea EC2U (European Campus of City-Universities) come modello di eccellenza.

Come evidenziato nel "Report sui risultati e il potenziale trasformativo dell’iniziativa Università Europee", durante la fase pilota EC2U si è distinta per la capacità di coinvolgere gli studenti, costruire collaborazioni con partner strategici e sviluppare programmi di Master congiunti.

Tra i partner fondatori di EC2U, l’Università di Pavia ha attivamente contribuito allo sviluppo delle diverse iniziative condotte in collaborazione con le altre Università dell’Alleanza. 

Tra le più rilevanti rientra l’EC2U Ambassador Programme, rivolto a studenti di tutte le università partner e finalizzato alla promozione delle attività nei campus, incentivando la mobilità e la cooperazione. Grande rilevanza è stata riconosciuta ai Master congiunti, che offrono percorsi di studio innovativi in ambiti strategici come Sustainable Cities and Communities, Lifelong, Wellbeing and Healthy aging, e European Languages, Cultures and Societies in contact. Un altro progetto di rilievo è l’app EC2U, un’applicazione mobile multilingue che fornisce informazioni essenziali su ciascuna università partner e sulla rispettiva città.

Un altro elemento di valore è rappresentato dai tre EC2U Virtual Institutes, che riuniscono studenti, ricercatori, accademici e professionisti in numerose attività a distanza, tra cui formazione, scambio di conoscenze e progetti congiunti, con un focus sugli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile delle Nazioni Unite.

Anche il Career Plan Certificate si distingue come un’iniziativa particolarmente significativa, in quanto aiuta studenti e giovani ricercatori a sviluppare competenze e a collaborare su scala europea. Il report evidenzia inoltre l’importanza dell’interazione tra le università EC2U e i loro partner strategici, con particolare riferimento all’EC2U Plenary Council, che riunisce diverse organizzazioni partner in ciascuna città.

L’Alleanza EC2U si trova ora nella fase di consolidamento, con ulteriori finanziamenti ricevuti dalla Commissione Europea al fine di rafforzare la cooperazione tra le università partner, favorendo una maggiore mobilità per studenti e ricercatori, lo sviluppo di modelli educativi innovativi e un'interazione sempre più stretta tra comunità accademiche, autorità regionali, attori socioeconomici e cittadini.

The European Commission acknowledges EC2U Alliance best practices 

The European Commission has recognized the activities of the EC2U Alliance (European Campus of City-Universities) as a model of excellence.

As highlighted in the "Report on the outcomes and transformational potential of the European Universities initiative", during the pilot phase, EC2U distinguished itself for its ability to engage students, build collaborations with strategic partners, and develop joint Master’s programs.

Among the founding partners of EC2U, the University of Pavia has actively contributed to the development of various initiatives carried out in collaboration with the other universities of the Alliance. One of the most significant initiatives is the EC2U Ambassador Programme, aimed at students from all partner universities to promote activities across campuses while fostering mobility and cooperation. Great importance has also been given to the joint Master programs, which offer innovative study paths in strategic fields such as Sustainable Cities and Communities, Lifelong Wellbeing and Healthy Ageing, and European Languages, Cultures and Societies in Contact. Another key project is the EC2U app, a multilingual mobile application providing essential information about each partner university and its city.

An additional valuable initiative is represented by the three EC2U Virtual Institutes, which bring together students, researchers, academics, and professionals in various remote activities, including training, knowledge exchange, and joint projects, with a focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Career Plan Certificate also stands out as a particularly significant initiative, as it helps students and young researchers develop skills and collaborate on a European scale.
The report further highlights the importance of interaction between EC2U universities and their strategic partners, with particular reference to the EC2U Plenary Council, which brings together various partner organizations in each city.

The EC2U Alliance is now in its consolidation phase, having received additional funding from the European Commission to strengthen cooperation among partner universities, promote greater mobility for students and researchers, foster the development of innovative educational models, and enhance interactions among academic communities, regional authorities, socioeconomic stakeholders, and citizens.
