Conclusione del Progetto Défi-Pavie: mobilità sostenibile e interculturalità

(English below) Si è concluso il progetto “Défi-Pavie” con l’arrivo dell’ultimo gruppo di studenti giunti a Pavia da Poitiers, viaggiando con l’utilizzo di mezzi di trasporto sostenibili.

Nell'ambito dell'Alleanza EC2U, il progetto di mobilità sostenibile Défi-Pavie, in collaborazione con il Comune di Pavia e quello di Poitiers (Francia), prevedeva che 12 gruppi composti da 2 a 6 persone con un'età uguale o inferiore ai 30 anni, provenienti dalla cittadina francese, venissero in visita a Pavia viaggiando esclusivamente con mezzi di trasporto sostenibili. Molti di loro hanno usato il treno, ma c’è stato anche chi, temerario, ha scelto di intraprendere il viaggio in bicicletta o a piedi.

Una volta arrivati a destinazione sono stati accolti presso il Municipio del Comune di Pavia dove hanno avuto la possibilità di visitare la sala da ballo del Palazzo Mezzabarba e la chiesa di San Quirico, di incontrare rappresentanti del Comune (l’assessora all’istruzione Chiara Valsini, il consigliere comunale delegato alle Relazioni Internazionali Roberto Tilocca e l’Ufficio Europa) e dell’alleanza EC2U e discutere delle politiche giovanili e di sostenibilità. Alla delegazione francese è stato offerto anche un tour delle aree più suggestive dell’Università di Pavia, organizzato dal centro GLOBEC. 

Il progetto aveva lo scopo di favorire il dialogo tra giovani provenienti da Paesi diversi, scoprire nuove culture e scambio di buone pratiche, ma ha anche dimostrato che viaggiare in Europa in maniera sostenibile non è solamente possibile, ma anche un’occasione di scambio e incontro.

Durante la loro permanenza, le delegazioni francesi sono entrate in contatto con la ricca realtà storica e culturale della nostra città e i vari partecipanti al progetto si sono detti entusiasti della loro esperienza e altamente soddisfatti della loro accoglienza da parte del Comune e dell’Università di Pavia. 

L’ultimo gruppo giunto a Pavia rimarrà per circa un mese, periodo che sfrutterà per realizzare una serie di podcast nei quali intervisterà degli enti locali che organizzano e gestiscono progetti incentrati sulla sostenibilità. Tra questi il progetto BRIGHTS gestito dal centro GLOBEC dell’Università di Pavia. 

Durante il Forum di EC2U tenutosi a Poitiers, il Comune ha annunciato che il prossimo “defi” sarà Poitiers - Salamanca! Una nuova sfida è stata lanciata e ci rende felici vedere che le Municipalità attraverso la rete EC2U promuovano iniziative rivolte ai giovani ed interculturalità.

Conclusion of the Défi-Pavie Project!

The "Défi-Pavie" project ended with the arrival of the last group of students who arrived in Pavia traveling by sustainable transports from the University of Poitiers. 

As part  of the EC2U Alliance, the Défi-Pavie sustainable mobility project, in collaboration  with the Municipality of Pavia  and  of Poitiers (France), gave the opportunity to 12 groups of 2 to 6 people aged 30 or under, coming from the town French, to visit Pavia. Many of them used the train, but there were also those who, adventurous, chose to embark on the journey by bicycle or on foot.

Once they arrived at their destination they have been welcomed at the Town Hall of the Municipality of Pavia where they had the opportunity to visit the ballroom of Palazzo Mezzabarba and the church of San Quirico and to meet representatives of the Municipality (the councilor for education Chiara Valsini, the municipal councilor delegated to International Relations Roberto Tilocca and the Europe Office) and the EC2U alliance and discuss youth and sustainability policies. The French delegation was  also offered a tour  of the most evocative areas of the University of Pavia, organized by  the GLOBEC center. 

The project aimed to foster dialogue between young people from different countries, discover new cultures and exchange good practices, but it also demonstrated that traveling in Europe in a sustainable way is not only possible, but also an opportunity for exchange and encounter. During their stay, the French delegations experienced the rich historical and cultural reality of our city and the various participants in the project reported that they were enthusiastic about their experience and highly satisfied with their welcome by the Municipality and the University of Pavia. 

The last group arrived in Pavia will remain for about a month, a period that they will use to create a series of podcasts in which local authorities that organize and manage projects focused on sustainability will be interviewed. Among these we mention the BRIGHTS project managed by the GLOBEC center of the University of Pavia. 

During the EC2U Forum held in Poitiers, the City Council announced that the next "defi" will be Poitiers - Salamanca! A new challenge has been launched and it makes us happy to see that the Municipalities through the EC2U network promote initiatives aimed at young people and interculturality.
