Una studentessa UniPv alla "European Student Assembly 2026": l’esperienza di Camilla Bertuccio nel cuore delle istituzioni europee
(English below) Tre giorni nel cuore dell’Europa, per conoscere i meccanismi che animano le istituzioni comunitarie e far sentire la voce dei giovani provenienti da ogni paese europeo.
L’edizione 2026 della European Student Assembly ha riunito a Strasburgo 250 studenti selezionati tra 3 mila candidature provenienti da tutti i paesi UE. Suddivisi in otto panel dedicati ad altrettante tematiche, i giovani partecipanti hanno lavorato insieme per trovare soluzioni concrete alle sfide di oggi e domani. Le loro proposte diventeranno raccomandazioni politiche, da sottoporre alle istituzioni dell’Unione Europea.
Tra i protagonisti di questa edizione c’era Camilla Bertuccio, studentessa dell’Università di Pavia e in questo contesto dell’Alleanza EC2U (European Campus of City-UNiversities), tra le 34 alleanze universitarie europee rappresentate dall’assemblea.
«È stata un’esperienza importante - ha commentato - sia per la mia crescita accademica che personale».
Camilla ha scelto di dedicarsi al Panel n. 5, incentrato sull’elaborazione di policy in materia di alfabetizzazione digitale, etica dell’intelligenza artificiale e sicurezza informatica, con particolare attenzione alla tutela dei gruppi più vulnerabili e alla regolamentazione dell’intelligenza artificiale sui social media.
«Mi ha permesso di entrare in contatto con studenti provenienti da tante alleanze diverse in tutti i paesi europei», ha raccontato. «Mi sono sentita parte di un grande gruppo, che condivideva gli stessi interessi, affrontava le stesse difficoltà, si preoccupava degli stessi problemi. Partecipare a questo progetto mi ha aiutato a comprendere meglio la complessità della governance e del processo decisionale dell’UE, ma mi ha anche fatto capire quanto sia importante per i giovani unirsi e far sentire la propria voce, perché qualcuno ascolterà, deve farlo».

At the heart of European institutions: Camilla Bertuccio’s experience at the European Student Assembly 2026
Three days at the heart of Europe to better understand the mechanisms that drive European institutions and to give a voice to young people from across the continent. The 2026 edition of the European Student Assembly brought together 250 students in Strasbourg, selected from 3,000 applications submitted from all EU countries. Divided into eight panels, each dedicated to a key topic, participants worked together to develop concrete solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow. Their proposals will be turned into policy recommendations to be submitted to the institutions of the European Union.
Among the participants was Camilla Bertuccio, a student at the University of Pavia and representative of the EC2U Alliance (European Campus of City-Universities), one of the 34 European university alliances represented at the Assembly.
«It was an important experience» she commented «both for my academic and personal growth.»
Camilla chose to join Panel 5, which focused on developing policies related to digital literacy, AI ethics and cybersecurity, with particular attention to the protection of vulnerable groups and the regulation of artificial intelligence on social media.
«The best part is getting to know so many different students from so many different alliances around all European countries» he said. «At that moment I felt part of a big group, sharing the same interests, fighting the same struggles, worrying about the same problems. Taking part in this project helped me to gain a better understanding of the complexity of EU governance and policymaking. It also made me realise how important it is for young people to come together and make their voices heard, because someone will listen, they have to.»
