Lifelong Career EC2U: superato il primo target con 57 studenti un passo in più verso una comunità accademica europea più inclusiva e connessa
(English below) L’Alleanza Europea EC2U (European Campus of City-Universities) segna un importante traguardo nel suo percorso di cooperazione accademica: sono 57 le candidature raccolte per i corsi di Lifelong Career promossi dalle università partner nell’ambito del Work Package 8 – Lifelong Learning Career (LLC), superando il primo target (KPI) fissato per questo l’anno 2025.
Questo risultato dimostra non solo l’efficacia del workflow messo a punto dall’Università di Pavia – che ha guidato il processo di definizione e implementazione – ma anche la capacità di coinvolgere attivamente studenti e studentesse. L’Università di Pavia si conferma così protagonista sia nella progettazione degli strumenti sia nell’engagement della comunità studentesca.
Ampliare le opportunità formative
L’attività è stata coordinata dai membri del WP8 dell’Università di Pavia, in collaborazione con i colleghi di ateneo responsabili del WP3 Connect Centre e della UOC Mobilità Internazionale. Le application sono state raccolte attraverso la piattaforma Mobility Online, già utilizzata a Pavia per la gestione della mobilità internazionale di studenti e visiting professor, oltre che per il Joint Master Degree "European Languages, Cultures, and Societies in Contact". Già integrata con il gestionale di carriera studenti in uso a Pavia (Esse3), Mobility Online è in costante sviluppo. L’obiettivo futuro è consentire lo scambio automatico di dati anche con i sistemi di gestione carriere degli atenei partner, rafforzando così un’alleanza sempre più digitale e interconnessa.
Il superamento del primo KPI rappresenta un passo fondamentale verso l’ampliamento delle opportunità formative e la costruzione di una comunità accademica europea sempre più inclusiva e partecipativa. Ora non resta che continuare a diffondere la notizia e invitare studenti e studentesse a “spread the voice” per rendere ancora più solido questo percorso condiviso.
Lifelong learning: strategico per il futuro
«Il lifelong learning - afferma il prof. Pietro Carretta, leader del sottogruppo WP8 dedicato a questa tematica - è uno dei temi strategici promossi dall’Alleanza EC2U. È sempre più necessario in una società e in un mondo del lavoro in continuo cambiamento, che richiedono un continuo upskilling delle competenze. Le università partner sono state tutte coinvolte nell’offerta di una settantina di corsi di formazione permanente su temi che vanno dalle soft skills alle competenze digitali, fino ai SDGs. Grazie alla determinazione dello staff dell’Università di Pavia, è stato possibile mettere a punto nel giro di pochissimo tempo - la scorsa estate - la procedura di iscrizione ai corsi che potranno ora essere seguiti da tutti gli afferenti al Campus Europeo EC2U».

EC2U Lifelong Career: first target achieved with 57 enrolled students
a step forward toward a more inclusive and connected European academic community
The European Alliance EC2U (European Campus of City-Universities) marks an important milestone in its path of academic cooperation: 57 applications have been received for the Lifelong Career courses promoted by the partner universities within the Work Package 8 – Lifelong Learning Career (LLC), thus exceeding the first Key Performance Indicator (KPI) set for 2025.
This result demonstrates not only the efficiency of the workflow developed by the University of Pavia - which led the process of definition and implementation - but also its strong capacity to engage students actively. The University of Pavia thus confirms its leading role both in designing the tools and in fostering student participation.
Expanding learning opportunities
The activity was coordinated by the WP8 team of the University of Pavia, in collaboration with colleagues from the WP3 Connect Centre and the International Mobility Office. Applications were collected through the Mobility Online platform, already in use at Pavia for managing international mobility for students and visiting professors, as well as for the Joint Master’s Degree in European Languages, Cultures, and Societies in Contact. Already integrated with Pavia’s student career management system (Esse3), Mobility Online is under continuous development. The future goal is to enable automatic data exchange with the student management systems of partner universities, thus strengthening an increasingly digital and interconnected alliance.
The achievement of the first KPI represents a key step toward expanding learning opportunities and building a more inclusive and participatory European academic community. The next step is to spread the news and invite students to “spread the voice”, making this shared journey even stronger.
Lifelong learning: a strategic priority for the future
«Lifelong learning - says Prof. Pietro Carretta, leader of the WP8 subgroup dedicated to this topic - is one of the strategic areas promoted by the EC2U Alliance. It is increasingly essential in a society and labor market that are constantly changing and demand continuous upskilling of competences. The partner universities have all contributed to offering around seventy lifelong learning courses, covering topics ranging from soft skills to digital competences and the SDGs. Thanks to the commitment of the University of Pavia’s staff, we were able - within just a few weeks last summer - to design and implement the enrollment procedure for courses that can now be accessed by all members of the EC2U European Campus».
