Francesca Miozzi premiata con la Europlanet Early-Career Medal 2026
(English below) Francesca Miozzi, ricercatrice del Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e dell’Ambiente dell'Università di Pavia e attualmente Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow, è tra le vincitrici delle Europlanet Career Medals 2026, riconoscimento che premia l’eccellenza scientifica, la capacità di costruire comunità e il contributo alla divulgazione nella fase iniziale della carriera.
Il premio valorizza in particolare il suo lavoro sperimentale sugli interni dei pianeti rocciosi e degli esopianeti, condotto attraverso esperimenti ad altissime pressioni e temperature. Le sue ricerche hanno contribuito a comprendere la solubilità dell’idrogeno nei magmi e i processi che possono portare alla formazione di acqua durante la formazione planetaria, con importanti implicazioni per lo studio dell’evoluzione e dell’abitabilità dei pianeti.
Il riconoscimento è stato conferito nell’ambito dell’Europlanet Science Congress 2026, svoltosi a L’Aia dal 6 all’11 settembre.

Francesca Miozzi awarded the Europlanet Early-Career Medal 2026
Francesca Miozzi, researcher in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the University of Pavia and currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow, is among the recipients of the 2026 Europlanet Career Medals, recognising scientific excellence, community building and outreach at an early career stage.
The award highlights her pioneering experimental research on the interiors of rocky planets and exoplanets, using experiments at extreme pressures and temperatures. Her work has advanced our understanding of hydrogen solubility in magma and of processes that may generate water during planetary formation, with important implications for planetary evolution and habitability.
The award was presented during the Europlanet Science Congress 2026, held in The Hague from 6 to 11 September.
