Al via l'ottava edizione del Foundation Year dell’Università di Pavia
(English below) Si è aperta mercoledì 8 ottobre 2025 in Aula Volta l’ottava edizione del Foundation Year dell’Università di Pavia. A dare il benvenuto agli studenti iscritti per il 2025-26 sono intervenuti il Prorettore agli Affari Internazionali Professor Matteo Alvaro, la Direttrice del Programma, Prof.ssa Ilaria Fiorentini, lo staff e la Responsabile della UOC Marketing and Recruitment, Dott.ssa Elena Fontana, oltre a STEP-ESN Pavia e una delegazione di Alumni delle scorse edizioni.
Ideato nell’anno accademico 2018-19 il Foundation Year dell’Università di Pavia è un corso preparatorio in lingua italiana rivolto a studenti che non soddisfano il requisito dei 12 anni di scolarità richiesti per l’accesso a un corso di laurea in Italia, ma anche a coloro che sono interessati ad acquisire o a migliorare la competenza linguistica in italiano in preparazione ad un percorso universitario in Italia.
Nel corso degli anni il numero di iscritti al Programma è aumentato esponenzialmente partendo dai 10 studenti della prima edizione pilota nell’anno 2018-19 sino a 200 studenti dell'edizione corrente. Gli studenti provengono da 40 Paesi del Mondo: Russia, Kazakhistan, Iraq e Turchia sono le nazionalità più rappresentate.
Al superamento dell'esame finale gli studenti potranno decidere di iscriversi a un corso di laurea triennale presso l’Università di Pavia. Circa il 61% degli studenti promossi al Foundation Year 2024-25 si è iscritto ad un corso di laurea dell’Università di Pavia.
La cerimonia di apertura è stata l’occasione per augurare agli studenti di riuscire a cogliere e sfruttare pienamente tutte le opportunità offerte da questa esperienza di studio e di vita.

The eight edition of the University of Pavia's Foundation Year opened on Wednesday 08 October in Aula Volta. Welcoming the students enrolled for 2025-26 were the Vice Rector for International Affairs Prof. Matteo Alvaro, the Director of the Programme, Prof. Ilaria Fiorentini, the staff and the Head of the UOC Marketing and Recruitment, Dr. Elena Fontana, as well as STEP-ESN Pavia and a delegation of Alumni from previous editions.
Conceived in the 2018-19 academic year, the Foundation Year at the University of Pavia is a preparatory course in Italian aimed at students who do not meet the 12-year schooling requirement for access to a degree course in Italy, but also at those who are interested in acquiring or improving their Italian language skills in preparation for a university course in Italy.
Over the years, the number of students enrolled in the Programme has increased exponentially from 10 students in the first pilot edition in the year 2018-19 to 200 students in the current edition. The students come from 40 countries around the world: Russia, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Turkey are the most represented nationalities.
Upon passing the final examination, students may decide to enroll in a first cycle degree programme at the University of Pavia. Around 61 per cent of the students who have passed Foundation Year 2024-25 enrolled in a degree programme at the University of Pavia.
The opening ceremony was an opportunity to wish the students every success in taking advantage of all the opportunities offered by this study and life experience.
