UniPv nel Direttivo Scholars at Risk Italia

(English below) Il 5 e 6 ottobre si è svolta a Trieste la prima riunione del nuovo Consiglio Direttivo della Rete Scholar at Risk Italia (SAR Italy). 

SAR (Scholars at Risk) è una rete internazionale di istituti di istruzione superiore volta a favorire la promozione della libertà accademica e a tutelare i diritti fondamentali degli studiosi in tutto il mondo. SAR Italy è il partenariato tra istituti di istruzione superiore e centri di ricerca italiani e  SAR.

L’Università di Pavia è parte di SAR Italy dal 2019 e i professori Antonio Morone e Axel Berkofsky, del Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali, insieme a un membro del GLOBEC (Center for Global Strategic Engagement) sono ora parte del nuovo Direttivo, eletto nell’assemblea che si è svolta lo scorso luglio. 

Oltre all’Università di Pavia, ne fanno parte: la Scuola Superiore di Catania, l’Università di Bologna, l’Università di Cagliari, l’Università di Verona, l’Università di Torino e l’Università di Roma 'La Sapienza'.
Gli incontri delle due giornate si sono incentrati sul passaggio di testimone dal vecchio al nuovo Direttivo e sulla discussione di temi importanti riguardanti l’advocacy e la protezione degli studiosi a rischio.

The first meeting of the new Steering Committee of the Scholar at Risk Italy network took place in Trieste on 5 and 6 October.

SAR (Scholars at Risk) is an international network of higher education institutions aimed at fostering the promotion of academic freedom and protecting the fundamental rights of scholars worldwide. SAR Italy is a partnership between Italian higher education institutions and research centers and SAR.

The University of Pavia has been part of SAR Italy since 2019 and professors Antonio Morone e Axel Berkofsky, of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, together with a member of GLOBEC (Center for Global Strategic Engagement) are now part of the new board, elected in the assembly that took place last July.

In addition to the University of Pavia, the board includes: the High School of Catania, the University of Bologna, the University of Cagliari, the University of Verona, the University of Turin and the University of Rome 'La Sapienza'.

Over the two days, the meetings focused on the handover from the old to the new steering committee and on the discussion of important issues regarding the advocacy and the protection of scholars at risk.
