La CRUI condanna ogni forma di guerra

(English below) In occasione della riunione dell’assemblea del 19 ottobre, i rettori della CRUI hanno condiviso le iniziative che le singole università hanno deciso di avviare in relazione allo scoppio del conflitto in Medio Oriente.

A conclusione della seduta, le Università aderenti alla CRUI, a fronte dell'attuale tragica recrudescenza degli scontri sentono il dovere di rivolgere un caloroso messaggio di rassicurazione e vicinanza agli studenti provenienti dalle zone di guerra presenti nelle Università italiane nonché viva e trepidante solidarietà agli studenti, ai colleghi docenti e al personale tecnico e amministrativo, tutti, coinvolti nelle aree di crisi.
         
Le Università sottolineano inoltre come esse siano, per la loro stessa natura, luogo di incontro e dialogo fra le culture nonché di sviluppo di pensiero critico e razionale, strumenti ai quali guardare per ogni costruzione di pace. Nel teatro mediorientale ed in tutti i luoghi, purtroppo numerosi, in cui si vive il dramma della guerra.

Al fine di dare sostanza a questa idea la CRUI e le università, nella giornata del 27 ottobre, esporranno sui propri siti la bandiera della pace a lutto. Inoltre, per tutto il mese di novembre osserveranno un minuto di silenzio per le vittime di tutti i conflitti all’inizio delle riunioni degli organi accademici.

At the assembly meeting on 19 October, the rectors of the CRUI shared the initiatives that the individual universities decided to launch following the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East.

At the end of the session, the Universities belonging to the CRUI, in the face of the current tragic resurgence of clashes, feel the duty to send a warm message of reassurance and closeness to the students coming from the war zones present in the Italian Universities as well as lively and anxious solidarity with the student , to my teaching colleagues and to the technical and administrative staff, all involved in the crisis areas.

Universities also underline how they are, by their very nature, a place of meeting and dialogue between cultures as well as the development of critical and rational thinking, tools to look to for any peace building. In the Middle Eastern theater and in all the places, unfortunately numerous, where the drama of war is experienced.

In order to give substance to this idea, the CRUI and the universities, on October 27th, will display the mourning peace flag on their websites. Furthermore, throughout the month of November they will observe a minute's silence for the victims of all conflicts at the beginning of the meetings of the academic bodies
