Autumn School "Geographic Data Science for Sustainability"
The University of Jena, within the EC2U Alliance, is organizing the School "Geographic Data Science for Sustainability" from 9 to 13 October.
Organized within the EC2U WP6, focused on SDG n.11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”(coordinated in Unipv by Professor Marco Morandotti, Department of Engineering), the EC2U Autumn School will focus on providing an overview of the state-of-the-art machine learning for geospatial and environmental modeling and analysis. The course will also introduce the R programming language with its geospatial capabilities and machine learning extensions, and students will apply their acquired skills using real-world geospatial datasets and hands-on exercises.
The School is dedicated to a specific target of students; therefore, students enrolled in the following courses of study may apply:
- Master's degree in architectural engineering,
- Master's degree in civil engineering,
- Master's degree in civil and environmental engineering,
- Master's degree in environmental and territorial engineering,
- Master's degree in geosciences for sustainable development,
- Three-year degree in geological sciences,
- Three-year degree in civil engineering.
Any interested teachers may also participate.
4 participants from the University of Pavia will be selected and will receive an EC2U grant (400 travel + 130 euros per day), which will be paid at the end of the mobility.
