In questo seminario si indagherà la natura incarnata (embodied) e situata della conoscenza musicale, attingendo alla filosofia e alla teoria musicale per esplorare come gli strumenti modellino la nostra cognizione e se sia possibile accedere realmente all'"ascolto tonale" del passato.

The second meeting of the Permanent Seminar Series, organized by the Rem@ke project team, will take place on Zoom on Friday, March 27th, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CET.
An engaging discussion with the keynote speaker, Jonathan De Souza, on "Musical Instruments and Situated Cognition".
This seminar will investigate the embodied and situated nature of musical knowledge, drawing on philosophy and music theory to explore how instruments shape our cognition and whether we can truly access the "tonal hearing" of the past.
A Q&A session will follow the lecture.
